Angel X Marrero is a Brooklyn-born DJ, music producer, and event promoter based in Atlanta. His work connects New York ballroom and LGBTQ+ nightlife with Atlanta’s club scene and international dance events.
His sound moves through ballroom house, classic house, tribal house, tech house, techno, hip hop, R&B, and dancehall reggae. His production history includes Ha Dance remixes, “Let It All Out” with MikeQ, and a remix of Lady Shaka’s “E Tu.”
Beyond the booth, Angel X leads a portfolio of event, Pride, promotion, and technology brands—bringing the same focus on community to every part of his work.

Angel X Marrero is a Brooklyn-born DJ, music producer and event promoter based in Atlanta. His work connects New York ballroom and LGBTQ+ nightlife with Atlanta's club scene and international dance events.
XLR8R reports that Angel X began DJing at Stonewall Inn at sixteen. In his 2017 Red Bull Music Academy lecture, MikeQ recalled Angel X's DJ work at The Clubhouse in Harlem. Angel X's Resident Advisor biography also lists Warehouse, Playground, Splash, Shelter and Webster Hall among his New York venues.
His production work forms part of the development of ballroom music. XLR8R's 2011 feature “Strictly Ballroom” discussed his combination of the animated X-Men theme with “The Ha Dance,” alongside influences from Detroit techno and Baltimore club. Red Bull Music Academy's history of vogue and ballroom included him among the scene's early dedicated producers.
Angel X collaborated with MikeQ on “Let It All Out,” the title track of MikeQ's 2011 EP on Fade to Mind. His music has also appeared in other DJs' published sets, including Mirasia's 2022 Mix Up broadcast for Australia's triple j, which included “Wonder Woman.”
His public record includes event presentation as well as DJ work. FlavaLife previewed “DJ Angel X Presents: The Marvel Ball,” scheduled at Baltimore's Paradox in December 2007. A 2016 community newsletter credited Angel X and Events4Him as presenters of Liberation DC's Black Pride weekend programming. Atlanta nightlife coverage listed him at Traxx, Jungle and XS Ultra Lounge; a published 2017 Jungle schedule paired his name with DreamTeam. Dream Team's public event listings also credit Angel X alongside Scrilla Ent.
Pride-related listings include Traxx's Pure Heat Black Pride Blowout in Atlanta in 2011, Baltimore Black Pride's Batteries Not Included event that year, a 2013 New York Pride kickoff at Splash, the 2014 Sizzle Miami main event at Club Space, and Nellie's DC Black Pride weekend programming in 2025.
International programs billed Angel X at Art Liberates Ball and Pump Da Beat in Porto in April 2023. Taiwanese coverage named him in the lineup for GLOWBALL Festival at Taipei Music Center in June 2024.
In an account published by NLV Records, Angel X recalled meeting Lady Shaka while both were booked at GLOWBALL in Taipei. That meeting led to an invitation to remix “E Tu.” DJ Mag covered the remix project's release in September 2024.
